Triabunna TAS
THE CREATIVE ENRICHMENT GROUP
Meeting will be on 14 March, at 1 pm, at The Village, Triabunna.
Graeme and Ingrid Rhind would like help in starting a new group at The Village, Triabunna, to include creators of all kinds of hands-on endeavours. We are talking about woodworkers, carvers, turners, rustic furniture makers, leather workers, glass artists, fabric and wool crafters, spinners and weavers, painters, print-makers, paper-makers, blacksmiths, potters, jewellery makers, writers and musicians. And more. We would like to meet monthly, maybe the last Thursday of the month, maybe at 5pm. We can discuss what suits everyone at the first meeting.
The purpose of this group is to allow like-minded people to mix and mingle, to share ideas and enthusiasm, to break into smaller groups for outings or paint sessions, for group visitation to events and classes. Creative people usually work alone, and this can become lonely and stagnating. Often a good laugh and a cup of tea or coffee can be the beginning of an adventure.
Also, we can eventually organise classes or demonstrations for things the group has shown an interest in. We refer to the Albany Summer School (WA) as a possible template, a two-week opportunity for participants to learn from 60+ classes in all kinds of artistic endeavours.
We are sure many in the community are tremendously talented, some in a lot of areas. We would like to tap into this wellspring of talent to enrich many of the creative people in our area.
We can start small, then add classes and demonstrations, and outings, also we could have artists or crafters demonstrating at The Village Market, the third Sunday of the month. People need to see how much talent there is, and may wish to join us to enrich their lives.
Our first meeting will be on 14 March, at 1 pm, at The Village, Triabunna. We look forward to meeting you, and hearing your ideas and wishes.
You can email us at ingrid.rhind@yahoo.com, all ideas and input are welcome.
