The Red Cross would like to extend an invitation to members of the Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society, particularly those in Swansea, Dolphin Sands and Cranbrook, to attend a free community information evening Red Cross are hosting at Swansea Town Hall on Thursday 23 March. The Risks Roles Ready event will involve a series of short talks outlining local disaster risks (all hazards) and who does what in an emergency (as per the Municipal Emergency Management Plan). Speakers include Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, Bureau of Meteorology, State Emergency Service, Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Police and Parks and Wildlife Service. The event is free, doors open at 5pm, talks are between 5.30 and 7.30pm, and a dinner of curries with rice will be served around 6pm. Registrations are greatly appreciated for catering. Agencies will have information tables for people to collect resources and ask questions.

This information evening forms part of a larger community disaster resilience project Red Cross are working on in Glamorgan Spring Bay, funded by the National Emergency Management Agency until July next year. Another Risks Roles Ready event will be held in Bicheno on 12 May and will include Coles Bay.
